What does the future of Yass Valley look like?

As more families and young professionals move out to the Yass Valley, what keeps your children here? Where is the overarching strategy that drives the Valley? We must move from a range of ad hoc 'nice-to-haves' to 'must-haves'.

We need a future vision that builds working opportunities for our collective futures in the Valley, and the core business for council must be to instil a future vision that makes Yass Valley enticing, through sustained, managed growth and development.

Central to the credentials for my candidacy is my skill set and my professional background. I practised as a lawyer, before taking the opportunity to act as a Barrister Sole, with a speciality in telecommunications infrastructure regulation. I also have a background in accounting, and I am a Chartered Accountant with CPA Australia.

An excellence in governance, financial literacy and risk management make me a most suitable candidate to represent your interests. My campaign platform is focused action, so that we:

a) Secure our water future;

b) Grow services to match development;

c) Introduce and model strong financial and fiscal Council responsibility; and

d) Create a council that serves the people through better, consultative communication.

I want to serve you and this Valley as your representative on Yass Valley Council for a better Yass Valley, especially as we navigate challenging times. The Council’s current financial situation is concerning to me, given my accounting knowledge, as such, there is much to do and much that I can offer you.
